Obituary of Larry Gene Seastrom

Larry Gene Seastrom, 68, of Arvada, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2024. Larry was born on August 13,1955 in Burlingame, Kansas to Velma and Everett Seastrom.

In 1977 Larry graduated from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. He was a member of the OU golf team. He cherished the friendships he made, the knowledge he gained, and the experiences that formed his foundation during his college years. He started his career in banking in 1979 in Pleasanton, Kansas and continued as a member of the independent banking community for over 30 years. He was President and CEO of New Frontier Bank, which he helped found in 1998. Later in life, Larry went back to the car business. Most recently he worked in special finance at several car dealerships where he was proud to help people secure financing.

Larry was civic minded and served his community in several ways: School Board Member for Weld County School District RE-4, Leadership Weld County Board Member, and President of the Windsor Civic Committee that was responsible for organizing the Windsor Harvest Festival. As well as a Member of Windsor and Greeley Chambers of Commerce and a youth basketball coach for traveling club teams.

Larry is survived by his loving daughters, Amanda Duran and Stacey Pilkington, two grandchildren, and brother Lee Seastrom of Burlingame, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his mother Velma McBroom, step-father George McBroom, and brother John Seastrom. Larry was a devoted father who brought endless love and joy into the lives of his daughters. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who will remember him for his kind heart, warm smile, and sense of humor. Even living in Colorado for over 40 years, he still held a passion for Kansas sports teams. He loved KU basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and honor his memory. May he rest in peace.
